A lot of people only consider carpet or hardwood flooring as their only option when trying create the home of their dreams. Yet this is not the correct attitude to have, as there as other options for flooring that many people do not consider. One of the most overlooked flooring options is laminates. Brookridge residents might not like the fact that laminate flooring looks like hardwood flooring, but does not feel or act like it. Laminate has many great advantages and disadvantages to other flooring options, but the life expectancy of the flooring is usually the main reason that makes people interested or not interested in laminate.
The Quality of Laminate Flooring
Many people who are not a big fan of laminate flooring are not aware that there are a few different degrees of laminates in terms of quality. With laminates, Brookridge residents should pay attention to two different types: plastic laminate and engineered wood. Many factors can affect the life expectancy of laminate flooring, but in optimal conditions, the cheaper plastic laminates are known to last anywhere from ten to twenty years. Engineered wood laminates are more relatable to hardwood flooring, as they can be sanded multiple times before you would have to remove them.
Factors That Ruin Laminate Flooring
The main contributors to a laminate flooring not lasting as long as they should be the environment that they are in, and whether any effort was made to try to keep them looking great. With laminates, Brookridge residents should know that they are extremely susceptible to drastic temperature changes and moisture, just like hardwoods. Laminate flooring can also warp and change color depending on much light exposure they have experienced. This should not sway someone interested in laminate flooring to never open their window out of fear the sun will damage their flooring. This is however suggesting that laminate flooring would not be the greatest for sun rooms or patios.
